Hi everyone,
Is there anyone can solve the question below by using design expert and email the answer before to QiLi7856@hotmail.com ,Would be greatly appreciated ////
Thanks for yr attention.
Best wishes
Q6 A researcher investigated the effect of 3 different concentrations of solvent on the yield of a chemical. The process was observed on three consecutive days and while each of three different operators ran the process. The design employed is a 32 factorial experiment laid out using a randomized complete block design with days corresponding to the blocks and the combinations of Operator and Concentration to the 9 treatment combinations. The data obtained is shown in the following table.
Operator
Day Solvent
Concentration A B C
I 0.5 1.30 0.47 −0.03
1.0 4.63 3.47 3.40
2.0 7.23 6.13 6.80
II 0.5 0.50 0.33 0.57
1.0 3.67 3.40 3.97
2.0 6.23 5.80 6.83
III 0.5 1.37 0.63 1.07
1.0 4.73 3.97 3.97
2.0 7.07 6.50 6.57
(a) Analyse this data —this analysis should be based on the factors being set as Categorical in Design Expert. (Note the total sum of squares is 161.65). Based on the ANOVA, how does Operator and Concentration affect the Yield? How did you come to this conclusion?
(b) What is the effects model underlying the analysis in (a)? Investigate the adequacy of this model. Summarize your conclusions, indicating how you arrived at them.
(c) Irrespective of whether the conditions are met in the previous section, use Design Expert to fit polynomials to the treatment means. Based on an appropriate analysis of variance table, find the lowest-order polynomial that adequately describes the trend in the yield means. What polynomials are required and how is this decided using the F values and their probabilities? What are the equations of the fitted polynomials estimated from the data? Produce a plot of the means with the fitted polynomials.. |
